The plot to assassinate President Kennedy seems to have been
sophisticated, intricate, and meticulously planned.

Byrds, Planes, and an Automobile

One of the men with whom the truth may lie, concerning the JFK
assassination's links to the University of Texas, was one of UT's most
ardent supporters who happened to own the building that has become
synonymous with the assassination. His ties to UT are well known. His
numerous ties to the assassination are lesser known. One of his least
known ties, it appears, is to the UT Rambler.

Somewhat like the plot to assassinate Trotsky and most unlike the failed
assassination conspiracy against Hitler in which Allen Dulles and Mary
Bancroft participated, the plot to assassinate President Kennedy seems to
have been sophisticated, intricate, and meticulously planned. It can be
presumed therefore that, as researcher William Weston has written, "One of
the most critical elements of this plot was the Texas School Book
Depository." In addition to both the circumstances of Oswald's employment
at the TSBD, and the routing of the motorcade by the building, Weston
points out that there would have been a need for a team of plotters to
make detailed plans inside the building well in advance of November 22,
including firing angles, planting of false evidence, and getaway plans.
This could have been done, Weston says, by six TSBD employees assigned to
lay new flooring on the fifth and sixth floors from late October until
November 22.298 It is a plausible argument, which brings up the concern
that any long- term improvement to the property such as a flooring project
would have to have been of interest to, if not directly initiated and
contracted by, the building's owner.

Roy Truly, the "superintendent" who hired Oswald was "a building
manager."299 In a story published the day after the assassination, Dallas
Morning News reporter Kent Biffle referred to Roy Truly as "Superintendent
of the textbook building...."300 The floor crew was supervised directly by
William Shelly, "the assistant manager who was in charge of the floor
laying project."301 These titles imply that they were building managers
more closely associated with the landlord than with the private textbook
brokerage firm which leased the building.302 The employment of these
individuals would seem to be a relatively easy fact for researchers
verify.

Weston writes, "The electrical power for the whole building and even the
telephone stopped working about five minutes prior to the
assassination.303

303. Warren Commission Hearings, Vol. 6, pp. 391, 395, 396, cited in
Weston, p. 11. Note: It was pointed out in the March 1993 Third Decade
(pp. 22-23) that the testimony cited by Weston referring to "lights all
went out and phones became dead" has two different interpretations. While
that is true, there is ample evidence that commission attorneys altered
testimony and chose language very carefully. Weston believes "that the
Warren Commission was trying to avoid the subject." In a cover-up, this
matter would be a prime target for obfuscation.

William Weston writes, "The electrical power for the whole building and
even the telephone stopped working about five minutes prior to the
assassination.303 How two such entirely different systems as the
electricity and the phones could go out simultaneously is beyond
explanation, unless one can assume that the interruption was
deliberate."304 Although this claim is currently in dispute, it cannot be
denied that the conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy would have
involved intimate knowledge of the TSBD building. Truly and Shelly were
possibly employed to some extent by the building's landlord, David Harold
Byrd.

Dallas oilman David Harold Byrd, born April 24, 1900, was the cousin of
Admiral Richard E. Byrd and his brother, Senator Harry F. Byrd, "the
leader of conservative opinion in the United States."305 D.H. Byrd owned
the Texas School Book Depository building from the 1930s to the 1970s. In
May 1964, he had the "Oswald window" removed and kept it as part of his
estate.306 In 1972, after Byrd sold the building to Mr. Aubrey Mayhew, an
arsonist set it on fire. It was saved, however. Shortly thereafter Mayhew
defaulted on his payments to Republic National Bank of Dallas307 and the
property reverted to the Byrd family.308 In 1975 Byrd sold it again.309

Byrd had a close relationship with both Lyndon Johnson and John Connally.
Evidently not satisfied with being the cousin of a powerful and respected
U.S. senator,310 for D.H. Byrd, "Another goal was to reach a rapport with
the politicians who ran things, especially at the seat of state government
in Austin....Sam Rayburn, Morrie Sheppard, John Connally, and Lyndon
Johnson on the national scene were to become men I could go to any time
that I wanted action, and so were a succession of Texas governors. Among
the ablest was John Connally...who says he's in my debt for pleading his
cause... with...Ida Nell (Nellie) Brill, Sweetheart of The University of
Texas in 1940...."311

Byrd probably also knew George de Mohrenschildt, David Atlee Phillips and
George Bush through the Dallas Petroleum Club.312 In 1945, future club
member de Mohrenschildt obtained a masters degree in petroleum engineering
after eighteen months at the University of Texas at Austin. 313 During
that year he was investigated by the FBI and ONI.

That same year he worked under Warren W. Smith, president of Pantipec Oil,
owned by the parents of William F. Buckley, Jr. Smith and de Mohrenschildt
soon quit and formed the Cuban-Venezuelan Oil Voting Trust Company. When
Castro took over, this company forfeited oil leases covering about half of
Cuba. Jack Crichton http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/MDcrichton.htm of
Army Intelligence Reserve Service, mentioned earlier, had also worked
under Warren Smith at Pantipec, which sells to Sun Oil.314 By 1957, George
de Mohrenschildt had established himself in oil ventures ranging from
wildcat drilling to aerial surveillance and had begun working for the
CIA.315

The Select Committee on Assassinations, which was created in 1976, dealt
with all aspects of the Kennedy assassination. Among them, they received
Dallas Police Department radio transcripts of channels 1 and 2 for Friday,
November 22, 1963.

At 12:24 p.m., as the President's motorcade moved down Main Street,
approaching Dealey Plaza, a police radio microphone, somewhere in the
city, became stuck in the open position resulting in an open transmitter.
This condition lasted for 41/2 seconds, then opened again for 1 second
twice in succession. At 12:28, approximately 2 minutes before shots were
fired at the presidential limousine, the microphone stuck open again for
171/2 seconds transmitting the engine sound of a running motorcycle.
Closing briefly, the microphone opened again at 12:29.10 and remained open
for 5 minutes and 9 seconds. At 12:34.19, the microphone closed and
remained closed. Since this time period covered the interval of time that
the shots were fired, resulting in the death of the president at Parkland
Hospital, the Assassination Committee studied the tapes hoping that the
open mike was in Dealey Plaza and recorded the sound of shots fired at the
motorcade. Even though this open mike almost crippled channel 1
communications during the crucial time period, in the event, no one
suspected that someone, who had access to a police radio, deliberately
keyed the mike open only to cripple communications and add to the
confusion. It seems reasonable to believe that this was the case assuming
that the assassin, in a conspiracy plot, had any hope of escaping
detection and capture. If this had happened at some point earlier in the
motorcade route, the occurrence would not appear out of place, but for an
open mike to happen from 12:24 p.m. until 12:34:10, this should allow for
at least a minimum of suspicion.

To add to the possibility of a deliberate keying open the microphone was
another strange bit to add to the scenario. At 12:32:05, several seconds
before the microphone closed, and several seconds after the fatal shot to
President Kennedy, the sound of the Morse Code "V" or "...____" was
generated at some point and transmitted over the open mike and recorded on
the tape. This "V" was a popular World War II victory signal and some of
the Warren Committee skeptics believe that the Morse Code "V" was a signal
transmitted to convey success to associates in the conspiracy. To
defenders of the commission, this notion is absurd because "..." is at a
higher pitch than the "_____" and it is not possible to key a mike to play
music. True, but who is to say that the sound was made by a microphone
key? Also, before the mike closed for good, someone was heard whistling an
unidentifiable tune. Could it have been the "Funeral March" or "Near My
God TO Thee?"

This subject is complicated and the truth about the open mike remains
unresolved. The Select Committee failed in their search of acoustical
evidence. The logic, however, is on the side of those who still believe
that Dealey Plaza was a planned act and the incident needs further
investigation by people more specialized and not so political.

APPENDIX TO THE KENNEDY ASSASSINATION TAPES

TRANSCRIPTS of DALLAS POLICE DEPARTMENT RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
November 22, 1963
ANNOTATED

INTRODUCTION

Radio communications are often so brief and cryptic, so full of local
slang and innuendo that meaning might not be clear even to police officers
in neighboring communities. Therefore, the meaning and significance of
these transcripts would likely be lost to the lay person if they were
required to decipher them without some explanation.

Ordinarily, Channel 1 would handle police communications for those police
districts lying east of the Trinity River, and Channel 2 would handle
those districts to the west, a community commonly referred to as Oak
Cliff.

On November 22, 1963, Channel 1 was assigned to handle the ordinary
business of the police department units NOT assigned to the visit of
President Kennedy, and Channel 2 was used as a special event frequency
during the President's visit.

Both transcripts start just before the motorcade got underway and end
after the motorcade disbanded at Parkland Hospital.

Lengthy commentary in the body of the transcript would interfere with
transcript continuity. Therefore, commentaries are included as numbered
end notes.

Attempts are made to warn Caesar of the plot to kill him, but none are
successful. Caesar is murdered in the Senate House. Brutus keeps the
others from killing anyone else and they all believe that their deed will
be celebrated throughout the ages. Antony enters and pretends that he
agrees with the conspirators actions and is granted permission to speak at
Caesar's funeral.

Brutus speaks first at the funeral to explain their reasons for killing
Caesar. The people seem to accept his explanation and then Antony speaks.
Throughout his speech, Antony never really says anything bad about Brutus
and the others, but he talks about Caesar being such a great and noble man
willing to sacrifice all for his people. The listeners become angry and a
mob runs through the streets in search of the conspirators; they even kill
a man because he had the same name as one of the conspirators.

Et tu Brute ?

More on Hine:

Geneva Hine was manning the phones in the second floor offices of the
Texas School Book Depository, on the west end of the building. (11-23-63
FBI report, CD5 p369-370) "Mrs. Hine advised that sometime between 12:25
PM and 12:35 PM she was alone in her office on the second floor of the
company building...At approximately that time she heard what she described
as three shots. She heard these very distinctly and believes they came
from somewhere inside the building, inasmuch as it sounded to her that the
shots originated above and to the west of her." (11-23-63 report of the
Dallas Police Department, box 1 folder 8 file 52 of the Dallas JFK
Archives) "Was in the office alone the day of the shooting heard three
shots and did not know what happened until the Police came in the office
and told the president had been shot." (3-18-64 statement to the FBI,
22H651) "At the time President Kennedy was shot I was on the second floor
of the Texas School Book Depository Building. I was alone at the time."
(4-7-64 testimony before the Warren Commission, 6H393-397) “I could see
it from the east window of our office…I saw the President's car coming
and I saw the President and saw him waving his hand in greeting up in the
air and I saw his wife and I saw him turn the corner and after he turned
the corner I looked and I saw the next car coming. Just at the instant I
saw the next car coming up was when I heard the shots…Three… they came
from inside the building…the building vibrated from the result of the
explosion coming in...they sounded almost like cannon shots they were so
terrific." (When asked if she was standing at the window at the time of
the shots) "Yes, sir; that is when I was at the window, because the next
car, you see, was coming up and turning and I looked. Of course I looked
when I heard the shots. I just stood there and saw people running to the
east up Elm Street. I saw people running; I saw people falling down, you
know, lying down on the sidewalk. ” Analysis: Ms. Hine’s testimony, if
taken literally, would indicate the first shot missed somewhere back
before the beginning of the Zapruder film sequence of the motorcade on
Elm, at a time when Tina Towner was still filming the Presidential limo's
turn onto Elm. Perhaps, by the “next car”, then, she simply meant that
the next car holding a politician was coming up to the corner when the
first shot was fired. This would be the Lincoln holding Vice-President
Johnson. If so, then her words are more compatible with the LPM scenario
than with a first shot 190 scenario. If she meant the "next car" to mean
the Presidential back-up car, however, then her words are incompatible
with the LPM scenario as well as most other scenarios. Her statement that
"Of course, I looked when I heard the shots" and then describing people
falling down--which did not happen until after the head shot-- suggests
that she was not paying much attention at the time of the first shot. In
support of this is the fact that she never mentioned looking out the
window until 4 1/2 months after the shooting. Her statement that she could
tell the shots were from inside the building, by the way, is refuted by
nearly every other witness in the building, and suggests she was not above
exaggerating for the sake of self- grandification. Those nevertheless
using this assertion as evidence Oswald fired all the shots from the
sniper's nest ignore that she originally said she thought the shots came
from above and to the west-- which would indicate an open window on the
west end of the building, where Arnold Rowland claimed to have seen a man
with a gun. Possible LPM scenario.

APPENDIX TO THE KENNEDY ASSASSINATION TAPES
TRANSCRIPTS of  DALLAS POLICE DEPARTMENT RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

Therefore, commentaries are included as numbered
end notes.

others from killing anyone else and they all believe that their deed will
be celebrated throughout the ages.

"Lights Out."
How convenient !  Geneva Hine, the only employee in the TSBD second
floor notices electrical power and phones go dead.

Miss HINE. Yes.
Mr. Ball.
Did you stay at your desk?
Miss HINE. Yes, sir: I was alone until THE LIGHTS ALL WENT OUT and the
PHONES BECAME DEAD BECAUSE THE MOTORCADE WAS COMING NEAR us and no one
was calling so I got up and thought I could see it from the east
window in our office.
Mr. Ball.
Did you go to the window?
Miss HINE. Yes, sir.
Mr. Ball.
Did you look out?
Miss HINE. Yes, sir.
Mr. Ball.
What did you see?
Miss HINE. I saw the escort car come first up the middle of Houston
Street.

"....the power had been cut off on the elevator, ..."
Mr. Belin.
Did he let you come back in?
Miss ADAMS. Yes, sir.
Mr. Belin.
Then what did you do ?
Miss ADAMS. Following that, I pushed the button for the passenger
elevator, but the power had been cut off on the elevator, so I took
the stairs to the second floor.
Moew on Adams
Victoria Adams (11-24-63 FBI report, CD5 p.39) “as the car…was
passing, she heard three loud reports which she first thought to be
fire crackers…and she believed the sound came from toward the right of
the building…After the third shot she observed the car containing
President Kennedy to speed up and rush away.” (2-17-64 statement to
the Dallas Police Department, box 3 folder 19 file 3 of the Dallas JFK
Archive) "When the President got in front of us I heard someone call
him and he turned. That is when I heard the first shot. I thought it
was a firecracker. Then the second shot I saw the Secret Service man
run to the back of the President's car. After the third shot I went
out the back door." (3-23-64 statement to the FBI, 22H632) “I recall
that at about 12:30 PM, just after the car carrying President Kennedy
had passed on the street below, I heard three loud reports which I
first thought were firecrackers…After the third shot I observed the
car carrying President Kennedy speed away.” (4-9-64 testimony before
the Warren Commission, 6H386-393) “I watched the motorcade... proceed
around the corner on Elm, and apparently somebody in the crowd called
to the late President, because he and his wife both turned abruptly
and faced the building… from our vantage point we were able to see
what the President’s wife was wearing, the roses in the car…Then we
heard—then we were obstructed from the view…A tree. And we heard a
shot, and it was a pause, and then a second shot, and then a third
shot. It sounded like a firecracker or a cannon at a football game,
it seemed as if it came from the right below rather than from the left
above.” (2-2-02 interview with Barry Ernest recounted in The Girl On
The Stairs, published 2011) "As they rounded the corner, they turned
toward our building, waving and smiling. The car continued moving
slowly and a tree obstructed my view. That is when I heard what I
thought was a firecracker go off. As the car came back into view I saw
that something was wrong and watched as Mrs. Kennedy appeared to be
trying to climb out of the car." Analysis: Adams’ testimony that she
saw Kennedy suddenly turn to his right before the first shot confirms
Mary Woodward’s account and that the first shot rung out around frame
190. Her mentioning a pause after the first shot, but not between the
second and third suggests the last two were bunched together. First
shot 190. Last two shots bunched together.

When
Castro took over, this company forfeited oil leases covering about half of
Cuba. Jack Crichtonhttp://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/MDcrichton.htmof

Bancroft participated,
How was Dulles involved in the plot to kill Hitler? Other than being the
ass. director of the OSS? The sculltle is that the plot was entirely from
the German underground.
Dr. Wilhelm Keutemeyer, Dr. Hans Bernd Gisevius, Mary Bancroft and
Allen Dulles were four participants in the July 20, 1944 attempt to
kill Hitler. Allen Dulles was the director of an OSS assassination
plot
http://www.glenaaron.com/observer/?p=469

Gisevius was a German Abwehr (German Intelligence) agent whose
diplomatic cover was vice-consul at the German consulate in Zurich
while Allen Dulles was there as the head of U.S. intelligence. While
in Switzerland Dulles began a long-lasting love affair with a woman
named Mary Bancroft. Mary's mother's adopted father was Clarence W.
Barron, then publisher of the Wall Street Journal, which he purchased
in 1902. In 1907, Jane Barron, whose mother Jessie Waldron had married
C.W. Barron in 1900, became Mary's stepmother by marrying Hugh
Bancroft. Bancrofts were among the first settler families that, in
1632, founded Lynn, Massachusetts in Essex County. During the next 50
years, the family was the sole exporter for the Massachusetts Bay
Colony, of sugar and tobacco, a trade that made it immensely wealthy.

In 1943 Dulles asked Mary Bancroft, who was working as a spy in
Zurich, and who was also having an affair with Dulles, to translate a
book written by Gisevius about the Third Reich. Gisevius and some of
his fascist Abwehr associates had been the planners of the July 20th
plot to kill Hitler with the idea of forming an alliance with Britain
and the U.S. against Russia.

[Source: Mary Bancroft, Autobiography of a Spy (New York: William
Morrow, 1983), pp. 187-88.]

According to Bancroft: "I told Allen it all made sense to me.
Difficult as it might be to believe, the conspirators actually hoped
that if they got rid of Hitler they would be able to take over the
whole country and to negotiate peace with the Anglo-Americans. Their
hopes went even further: They envisaged the western Allies joining
them in a crusade against Russia -- and communism. Gisevius had been
sent to Switzerland to get in touch with the western Allies. Other
emissaries were making similar contacts in Sweden and
elsewhere." [Source: Bancroft, Autobiography..., pp. 161, 168-170.]
Mary Bancroft's report back to Dulles reminds us of what eventually
did occur in Operation Paperclip, when Dulles helped certain Nazis
avoid prosecution for war crimes, transfer Nazi assets into U.S.
corporations, and set up the military-industrial infrastructure within
the United States.

Mary Bancroft's first husband, Sherwin Badger, was a Harvard graduate
whose first job had been in the head office of United Fruit in Cuba.
After a year in Cuba he became a journalist in Boston, later moving to
the Wall Street Journal and Barron's in New York, both of which were
published by Mary's step-grandfather, Clarence Walker Barron. Mary
also had a long friendship with the Trotsky follower, architect George
Lyman Paine, and his wife Ruth Forbes Paine, whose son Michael Paine
and his wife Ruth befriended Marina Oswald the year prior to John
Kennedy's assassination.

Michael Paine's uncle, Eric Schroeder, was a friend and investment
associate of geologist Everette DeGolyer, a long-time Dresser
Industries director, who served on the Dresser board with Prescott
Bush. Schroeder was a cousin of Alexander "Sandy" Forbes, former
director of United Fruit who "belonged to the elite Tryall Golf Club
retreat in Jamaica with ... Paul Raigorodsky." [Source: Richard
Bartholomew, "Possible Discovery," p. 38. See also Mary Bancroft,
Autobiography of a Spy (New York: William Morrow, 1983). DeGolyer was
an advisor to the University of Texas Board of Regents and its
chairman, Harry Huntt Ransom, and was also a business partner of Lewis
MacNaughton in the Dallas oil exploration firm DeGolyer and
MacNaughton. MacNaughton had many CIA contacts and his personal
accountant, George Bouhe, was one of Oswald's chief Russian guardians
in Dallas in 1962. See Lon Tinkle, Mr. De: A Biography of Everette Lee
DeGolyer, (Boston, MA: Little, Brown, 1970), pp. 224, 239 and Peter
Dale Scott, The Dallas Conspiracy, ch. III, p. 6. Bartholomew also
cites as a source: Peter Dale Scott, "Government Documents and the
Kennedy Assassination," (unpublished manuscript), ch. II, p. 4, and
states: "Note: The St. Nicholas Parish was a CIA-subsidized Russian
Orthodox church Outside Russia, restricted to aristocratic anti-
Bolshevik Russians who had been 'checked, rechecked, and double
checked' by the CIA-subsidized Tolstoy Foundation.

(9 H 5, 7, cited in Scott, Government Documents..., ch. II, p. 1.)"]

Everett DeGolyer became a famous geologist from Oklahoma, who spent
virtually his entire career working for the Pearson oil companies
controlled by the same titled family that owned both the media
conglomerate and Lazard Brothers investment bank. He was a long-time
Dresser director in Dallas where he was a geophysical consultant for
all the oil companies. His work as a geologist got a boost when as a
young man he was employed by the Mexican Eagle Oil Co., owned by Sir
Weetman Pearson, who called him to London in 1918 and asked him to
sell Mexican Eagle to Royal Dutch Shell. The proceeds from the sale
were invested by Pearson in the creation of a new oil company founded
and operated by De Golyer in 1919 called Amerada (which some years
later merged into Amerada Hess), a big percentage of which was owned
by the British government. DeGolyer maintained offices in Houston as
well as Dallas and was well-known in the Houston and Dallas petroleum
clubs frequented by George Bush and the Liedtkes.

One of DeGolyer's daughters married George C. McGhee, a U.S. State
Department official, who was present in May 1954 at the first
Bilderberg meeting with George Ball, David Rockefeller, Prince
Bernhard of Holland and Dr. Joseph Retinger. [Source: William Engdahl,
A Century of War, p. 149.] McGhee later served as a trustee of the
Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies, set up to shape the "limits to
growth" agenda. [Source: Engdahl, p. 160.] By that time McGhee had
left the State Department to become a director of Mobil Oil, the
company which absorbed Magnolia Oil Company, a Rockefeller company
which was initially founded by Galveston banking interests involved in
constructing a railroad from the Galveston-Houston area to St. Louis,
which came to be part of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad
financed by G. H. Walker & Co.

Be sure and get to a library and have the librarian locate a book
written by Mary Bancroft. Title: Autobiography of a Spy. 1983 Morrow
Bancroft relates the story of her childhood, her two marriages, her
affair with Allen Dulles, and her work in Switzerland with the Office
of Strategic Services during World War II. Just a line to get you
started: "Two of our Boston friends, Ruth and Lyman Paine, had moved
to New York and gave wonderful parties in their West Side apartment.
We met a lot of their friends, mostly in the arts. Ruth was a painter.
Lyman, an architect, was interested in what he termed "The Ultimate
Reality," which I interpreted as my old friend, truth. Lyman and I had
endless discussions about the ultimate reality while sipping highballs
of bathtub gin and ginger ale that would have taken the varnish off a
table if they had happened to spill."

Mary's first husband was Sherwin Badger who was employed by United
Fruit Co.. Do some research on the fruit co.. It was owned by John
Foster Dulles brother of Allen Dulles, I'm sure you know who they
were. Allen was CIA Director removed by JFK. Mary also knew Ruth
Forbes- Ruth Paine's mother- Mary said Ruth Forbes was a very good
friend of mine.

Mary's son, Sherman, worked for Henry Luce at Life Magazine.
Mary was not only a mistress to Allen Dulles; she was also sleeping
with Henry, husband of Clare Boothe Luce.

Son Sherman Jr. attended Dartmouth University at the same time
that George deMohrenschildt's brother taught Russian and published the
Russian Review.

have been sophisticated, intricate, and meticulously planned. It can be
presumed therefore that, as researcher William Weston has written, "One of
the most critical elements of this plot was the Texas School Book
Weston believes "that the
Warren Commission was trying to avoid the subject." In a cover-up, this
matter would be a prime target for obfuscation.

another strange bit to add to the scenario.

Both transcripts start just before the motorcade got underway and end
after the motorcade disbanded at Parkland Hospital.
Lengthy commentary in the body of the transcript would interfere with
transcript continuity. Therefore, commentaries are included as numbered

Bancroft participated,
How was Dulles involved in the plot to kill Hitler? Other than being the
ass. director of the OSS? The sculltle is that the plot was entirely from
the German underground.
Dr. Wilhelm Keutemeyer, Dr. Hans Bernd Gisevius, Mary Bancroft and
Allen Dulles were four participants in the July 20, 1944 attempt to
kill Hitler. Allen Dulles was the director of an OSS assassination

Valkarie at Dealey Plaza (1 post) christs4sale
Administrator Bill Kelly's excellent article connecting the Hitler
assassination attempt and the assassination of JFK:

A new movie Valkarie, takes its name from the code word for the Nazi
generals plot to assassinate Hitler, take over the government and
appeal for peace, which resulted in the July 20, 1944 bombing at the
Wolf's Lair bunker.

JULY 20, 1944 – NOVEMBER 22, 1963 – Bill Kelly

The July 20, 1944 plot to kill Adolph Hitler and the November 22, 1963
assassination of President Kennedy are separated by nearly two decades
in time, yet they are entwined by a number of common attributes,
indeed some of the same individuals were involved in both dramas.

Dr. Wilhelm Keutemeyer, Dr. Hans Bernd Gisevius, Mary Bancroft and
Allen Dulles were four participants in the July 20, 1944 attempt to
kill Hitler who also became players in the Dealey Plaza tragedy.

When Lee Harvey Oswald was identified as a suspect in the
assassination, it was immediately determined that he had spent the
previous night at the home of Ruth Hyde Paine. How did the Oswalds
come to meet the Paines? We learn they met through the seemingly
innocent, yet suspicious efforts of a German immigrant, Volkmar
Schmidt.

Volkmar Schmidt was at the time an employee of Magnolia Oil Labs and
was a friend and associate of George DeMohrenschildt, who encouraged
Schmidt to meet Oswald. A party was set up at Schmidt’s house, which
he shared with two other young men who worked in the same business,
Everitt Glover and the son of one the founders of Radio Free Europe,
Richard Pierce.

Schmidt was recruited in Germany by Magnolia Labs, a branch of the
Magnolia Oil Company that was originally founded by a man (Little),
whose rich widow was bilked by Jim Braden and his sidekick (Pierria)
who were branded “The Honeymooners” when Braden was kicked out of
Dallas for vagrancy by Sheriff Bill Decker, when Braden was living at
the widow’s Turtle Creek home. Since then, Magnolia was bought up by a
bigger fish – Mobil Oil.

Schmidt arranged for the early February, 1962 party at his place for
Michael Paine to meet Oswald, but neither the host nor Michael Paine
attended, so a second party was held (February 20th) at
DeMohrenschilt’s apartment.

According to E. J. Epstein (in Legend, McGraw-Hill, 1978 p.204) and a
telephone interview with Volkmar Schmidt (Bill Kelly interview with
Volkmar Schmidt – Jan. 1995), it was a monumental meeting for both
men.

Sitting across a table from Oswald, Schmidt had a three hour
conversation with him. Schmidt later said that “almost from the moment
Oswald began talking about his experiences in the Soviet Union”
Schmidt was impressed by Oswald’s “burning dedication” to what he
considered “political truth.”

During the course of their conversation Schmidt said he used a
“reverse psychology” technique that he had learned in Germany from

When
Castro took over, this company forfeited oil leases covering about half of
Cuba. Jack Crichtonhttp://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/MDcrichton.htmof
